Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Salsey's website, waitlist, web app and Chrome extension (the “Service”), operated by Salsey (“Salsey,” “we,” “us”). By joining the waitlist or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Waitlist and early access

Salsey is in pre-launch. Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee access, and we may invite people in any order. Early-access features are provided as a beta: they may change, be limited, or be removed, and may not always work as expected.

2. Who can use Salsey

You must be at least 18 and use Salsey for business purposes. If you use it on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for that company, and “you” includes the company.

3. Your account

Give accurate information, keep your password secure, and tell us right away about any unauthorized use. You're responsible for activity under your account.

4. Recording, transcription and consent

Salsey transcribes conversations while you have listening turned on. You are solely responsible for complying with every law that applies to recording, transcribing or monitoring a conversation, including laws that require the consent of all participants, such as Washington (RCW 9.73) and California (Penal Code § 632). Before using Salsey on a call you must give any required notice and get any required consent, and you must not use Salsey where doing so would be unlawful. You must also follow the terms of the meeting platform you use.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Salsey for anything illegal, deceptive or harassing, or to violate anyone's privacy or rights;
  • upload content you don't have the right to use, or content that is unlawful or infringing;
  • attempt to access other users' data, or probe, disrupt or overload our systems;
  • reverse engineer, copy or resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
  • access the Service through automated means except through features we provide.

6. Your content

You own the content you put into Salsey, including your playbook and your call transcripts. You give us a limited license to host, process and display it only as needed to provide and improve the Service for you, and you confirm you have the rights needed to grant that license. We don't use your content to train our own AI models.

7. AI suggestions

Salsey's suggestions, recaps and insights are generated by AI and can be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuited to your situation. They are not legal, financial or professional advice. You decide what to say on your calls and you are responsible for it.

8. Fees

Salsey is currently free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you the price and terms before you are charged, and you won't be charged unless you choose a paid plan.

9. Our intellectual property and feedback

We own the Service, including its software, design and branding. These terms don't give you any rights to them beyond using the Service as allowed here. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Third-party services

Salsey works alongside services we don't control, such as Google Chrome and Google Meet, and relies on providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Salsey and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including 6, 7 and 12 to 16, will survive.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Salsey won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, deals or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Salsey against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these terms or the law, including laws on recording and consent.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington, and you and Salsey consent to their jurisdiction.

16. Changes and general terms

We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll notify you by email or in the Service before they take effect, and continuing to use Salsey after that means you accept them. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Salsey about the Service.
